Latoyia Figueroa

As of this writing, I’m not sure how much hope I can keep holding out for. Latoyia Figueroa has been gone for a long time. Too long.

Around the blogosphere in Philadelphia, efforts have been made to get information about her out. PhillyFuture and the All Spin Zone have posted numerous times, just trying to get the media to notice.

I’m honestly ashamed that I’ve kept quiet when I could have posted here, but it’s time to post something.

Natalee Holloway has been getting attention from every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the media…but where is Latoyia? She’s getting more coverage now, thanks to a blogswarm from other Philly area bloggers. But where is she? Still missing. She’s also pregnant. And a mother. Oh, and she’s not white. Or blonde. There isn’t a huge reward for her; the Philadelphia Citizen’s Crime Commission is offering what it can, though.

So what’s left? More pressure. Keep her face fresh, and her name familiar. We need to find Latoyia. We need to let the media know that it’s not ok to give hours and hours of coverage to a white girl and skim over everybody else. The race lines shouldn’t be a factor here; instead, it should be a missing woman.
