All About the Music

Today is the last day of the XPN All About the Music festival in Wiggins Park. It’s $10 if you’re a member and $15 if you’re not, for an entire day of music. Today you’ll get to hear Townhall (Philly local band), Erin McKeown, Loudown Wainwright III (Rufus Wainwright’s dad), the Indigo Girls (always a favorite of mine) and Patti Smith and her band. If you need more info, head over to www.xpn.org

When they first started announcing this festival several months ago, I was a little sad. I liked the old name (Singer/Songwriter) and the old location (Penn’s Landing). But I’m ready to check the show out today and give this new format a chance. Come and check it out with me!

It was a great show and a great day. The new venue was terrific, with the backdrop of a majestic-looking Center City. I didn’t stay for Patti Smith, but Townhall and the Indigo Girls rocked my face off.
