SEPTA Shutdown Shocks…well, no one.

As the SEPTA devotee around here, I feel the need to report this sad news. Oh boy.
Turns out SEPTA is taking this track work very seriously and has decided to pull a full shutdown of the El track from 52nd St all the way up to 69th St.

I mean, I love SEPTA more than most people, but folks…what’s going on? Maybe it’s the Harry Potter craze that has shifted my attention from WHYY (What? Me? Try to listen to all 5 audiobooks before the book comes out tonight?), but this one snuck up on me big-time. Usually I’m really on top of my SEPTA news, too. I think that not riding a trolley every day has also cut back on my lack of SEPTA news because I don’t see those cute little bulletins taped onto the windows.

But, no, you will not be high and dry! Oh no no! SEPTA has decided to provide you, dear rider, with buses instead! Here’s some info from the SEPTA website that will help with your commute for the next few days, since the El is dead until Monday, July 25th. (OMG, I hope I don’t need to head that way.)

The El will temporarily shutdown between 52nd St Station and 69th St Terminal beginning Friday, July 15 at 8 p.m. and will remain closed through Monday, July 25 at 5 a.m.
