After picking up bits and pieces of the news coverage today, my bank teller pointed out something interesting (and odd) to me. The media specifically mentions upping security in Atlanta and Miami…but not Philadelphia? Why not? What are we?

From the New York Times:

“In cities like New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles, the elevated alert translated immediately into additional security measures.”

Is Philadelphia- situated halfway between NYC and DC- the worthless step-child? Are we Cousin Oliver now?
The bigger question in my mind is, if we are getting the brush off from the people who are “officially” in charge of this stuff, will the attackers notice and use our position against us in the future? It seems like a kickass idea to attack the “birthplace of liberty” and all that jazz.

To be honest, those are questions I never want to answer.
