Hey, welcome to Philly

So here we are, at long last, the Philly metblog. We’re a good town, and I think we’ll be a good blog. I admit to having some first-post jitters (akin to that feeling in your stomach the night before you get on an airplane) but I’m trying to dissipate them through mindless rambling. I think its working.

There’s some fun stuff coming up in the next week in the City of Brotherly Love. An estimated 1 million people will be gathering on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 2nd for Live 8 (which others before me have mentioned). Since I live in the “no drive zone” that the city has established for the event, I have two choices.

Either get the hell out of town Friday night or attend, with a bunch of friends, multiple bottles of sunscreen and as much concealed alcohol as we can carry.

There has been talk of a vodka watermelon. I can’t wait.

Oh, so you can also find me at www.apt2024.blogspot.com.

I like the idea of the vodka watermelon.

Well, I’m stocking in provisions Friday morning, and then just plan to party my way through all the telecasts. If you need me to drive some groceries to my house (just outside the no-drive-zone) and then hand-carry them “across the border” to you, let me know!

Congratulations on your launch. Best wishes from London. Even if your server won’t let me put my blog’s name in.

    Paul
